Marius Burhan is a visual artist and expert in the field of fine arts, whose professional trajectory lies at the intersection of creation, research, and heritage evaluation. Holding a PhD in Fine and Decorative Arts, he has been an active full member of the Union of Visual Artists of Romania for over two decades, steadily building a strong profile in both artistic practice and expert appraisal.

Accredited by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Justice, Marius Burhan is involved in the authentication and evaluation of artworks, a field in which his direct experience as an artist becomes an essential asset.

His in-depth understanding of techniques, materials, and visual language allows him to approach analysis with nuance and rigor, going beyond purely formal assessment.

His academic formation was further enriched by postdoctoral fellowships in Rome and Venice, experiences that broadened his international perspective and contributed to the maturation of his artistic discourse. Since 1996, he has held over 40 solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous exhibition projects and conferences, both nationally and internationally.

Artistically, his recent works focus on contemporary and sensitive themes such as conflict, urban identity, memory, and the transformations of modern society. Projects such as “Stop The War,” “Urban Strange,” and “Humanity Reverse” outline a coherent, critical, and reflective direction, in which imagery becomes a tool for questioning reality.

Through his work, Marius Burhan represents a model of the contemporary artist who extends beyond the production of artistic objects, assuming the roles of analyst, researcher, and cultural mediator.
